An established and well-respected law firm in Bridgwater is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy and friendly Residential Property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to develop their career within a supportive legal environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting fee earners with a varied caseload of residential property transactions, ensuring clients receive a high standard of service throughout the conveyancing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to Conveyancers and Solicitors within the Residential Property department.
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing legal documents, correspondence and reports.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties.
  • Managing incoming calls, emails and post, ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
  • Assisting with property searches, Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and case management systems.
  • Supporting fee earners in progressing transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Undertaking compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks.
  • Assisting with diary management and arranging appointments where required.

The Ideal Candidate:

The firm is keen to hear from candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience within a conveyancing or legal support role, although candidates with strong administration experience and an interest in property law will also be considered.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and client care skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • A professional, positive and proactive approach to work.
