Legal Southwest
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Agricultural & Rural Property Paralegal to join its highly regarded team in Wells.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of one of the Southwest’s leading Agriculture & Rural Property teams, working alongside experienced lawyers who advise farmers, landowners, estates and rural businesses on a wide variety of legal matters.
Whether you already have legal experience, come from a rural background, or are simply passionate about agriculture and rural affairs, this role offers the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career within a specialist area of law.
The Firm
Our client believes that good legal advice should work in the real world, not just in theory. They combine technical expertise with a practical understanding of people, organisations and commercial reality. It’s an approach that shapes how they advise clients and how they develop their people.
The Team
Agriculture and rural law is about more than just land.
The Agriculture & Rural Property team works closely with farmers, landowners and rural businesses across the Southwest, often supporting families and enterprises they have advised for generations. The work sits at the intersection of property, business, family and long-term decision-making, helping clients navigate matters that can have consequences for years and sometimes generations.
Whilst much of the work is office-based, you’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships with clients where they live and work, gaining a real understanding of the rural sector.
The Role
Working closely with Partners and experienced fee earners, you will support a broad range of agricultural and rural property matters, including:
- Land acquisitions and disposals
- Agricultural tenancies
- Rights of way and easements
- Rural business matters
- Succession planning
- Diversification projects
- General agricultural property transactions
From the outset, you will be involved in real client work, assisting with transactions, maintaining strong client relationships and developing your understanding of both property law and the agricultural sector.
About You
This opportunity could suit a variety of candidates, including:
- A law graduate looking to begin their legal career.
- A paralegal with experience in property or another area of law who has a genuine interest in Agricultural & Rural Property.
- Someone with transferable legal skills and a personal connection to, or passion for, the rural sector.
- A career paralegal who enjoys developing expertise within their role and is looking for long-term stability rather than a traditional route to qualification.
Whatever your background, you’ll be naturally curious, practical, organised and keen to learn. Above all, you’ll take pride in producing high-quality work and enjoy building lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected Agriculture & Rural Property team, where you’ll receive excellent mentoring, enjoy exposure to a fascinating and varied client base, and develop specialist expertise within a sector that remains at the heart of many rural communities.
If you’re looking for a role where you can build a long-term career, develop genuine specialist knowledge and work alongside experienced lawyers who are invested in your success, we’d love to hear from you.
