A leading law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join its established Insurance Disputes team based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded litigation practice working on a broad range of domestic and international personal injury disputes.
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative and supportive team, gaining exposure to high-quality work while receiving ongoing development and mentoring from experienced legal professionals.
The Role:
The role will involve assisting with and managing a varied caseload of personal injury litigation matters, including both claimant and defendant work. Matters may include claims within the jurisdiction of England and Wales, cross-border disputes, and insurance-related contractual issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with and progressing personal injury litigation matters through the litigation process.
- Advising clients on a range of personal injury and insurance disputes.
- Taking client instructions and managing file opening and compliance procedures.
- Considering and utilising appropriate methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
- Conducting legal research and preparing supporting documentation.
- Managing files in accordance with regulatory and client service standards.
- Supporting business development and marketing initiatives.
- Participating in departmental and firm-wide training and development programmes.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants should possess:
- Previous paralegal experience handling personal injury claims.
- An LLB, LPC or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to manage and progress files with an appropriate level of independence.
- Strong client care and service delivery skills.
- A positive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude.
- A strong academic background.
