Are you highly organised, client-focused and looking to develop your career within Residential Property?

Our client is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy and expanding Residential Property team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established and highly regarded property department that prides itself on delivering an exceptional service to clients across England and Wales.

Working alongside experienced Property Lawyers, you will provide essential support to the team, helping to ensure transactions progress smoothly whilst delivering a first-class client experience.

The Role

As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will provide a combination of legal and administrative support to fee earners involved in residential property transactions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening, closing and archiving client files
  • Assisting with pre-completion and post-completion matters
  • Submitting Land Registry applications
  • Conducting property searches
  • Handling client enquiries by telephone and email
  • Preparing and proofreading legal documents
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate records using case management systems
  • Providing general administrative support to the Residential Property team

This is a varied role that offers excellent exposure to the conveyancing process and the opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive legal environment.

The successful candidate will be organised, adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.

You will have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • A proactive and positive approach to work
  • Excellent client care skills

Previous experience within a property, conveyancing or legal support role would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates with a genuine interest in Residential Property and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • 36.25 hours per week
  • Office-based in Exeter
