Legal Southwest

A well-established law firm is seeking a Private Client Legal Assistant to join its busy and growing Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to build or further develop a career within legal services.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and client support to a team handling a range of private client matters, including estate administration, powers of attorney, trusts, and related legal services. The role will involve supporting fee earners with the day-to-day management of client matters, helping to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to fee earners across a range of private client matters.
  • Managing client files, including opening, closing, and archiving documentation.
  • Preparing, proofreading, and formatting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries from clients and third parties.
  • Assisting with diary management, document production, and general office administration.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
  • Supporting the team with document storage and retrieval.
  • Assisting with financial administration and record-keeping where required.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a strong attention to detail. They will be able to manage a varied workload, prioritise tasks effectively, and maintain a professional and client-focused approach at all times.

Previous experience within a legal, professional services, financial services, or administrative environment would be advantageous, although candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
