Location: The role can be based at any of the following offices: Brixham, Axminster, Seaton, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Honiton, Paignton, Launceston, Bovey Tracey, Torquay, Newton Abbot or Exeter.
Hours: Full-time or part-time
Experience: Minimum of three years’ trust administration experience
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience
We are working with a well-established and highly regarded regional law firm that is looking to recruit an experienced Trust Administrator to join its Tax and Trusts department.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of trust administration and taxation to join a supportive team providing legal and tax compliance services to individuals and businesses.
The role
The successful candidate will manage a varied trust administration workload, including:
- The administration and taxation of discretionary, life interest and bare trusts.
- Preparing annual trust accounts.
- Dealing with Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax matters.
- Preparing and submitting IHT100 and IHT418 forms when required.
- Preparing and submitting SA900 Trust and Estate Tax Returns.
- Registering trusts through the Trust Registration Service.
- Advising on when trust registration is required.
- Dealing with Automatic Exchange of Information and Common Reporting Standard requirements.
- Supporting the wider Tax and Trusts team as required.
The successful candidate
You will need a minimum of three years’ experience in trust administration, together with a sound understanding of the relevant taxation and legal principles.
ATT, CTA or TEP qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
You should also possess:
- A good balance of technical ability and commercial awareness.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A willingness to develop your knowledge and undertake further training.
- The flexibility to travel between offices when required.
