Senior Residential Property Solicitor – Partnership Prospects

We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm in North Devon seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a senior position offering genuine partnership prospects, making it a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated property law professional ready to take the next step in their career.

The role is office-based, as it is vital to be on hand to mentor and supervise junior staff, contributing to the development and strength of the residential property team. The position can be based in any of the firm’s three offices: Barnstaple, Bideford, or Braunton.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in supporting more junior colleagues while delivering high-quality legal advice to a loyal client base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to post-completion

• Advising clients on legal requirements and providing clear, practical guidance

• Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, transfers, and mortgages

• Liaising with clients, estate agents, and other legal professionals to ensure a smooth transaction process

• Mentoring and supervising junior team members

• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

The Ideal Candidate

• A minimum of 3 years’ PQE in residential property law

• Proven ability to manage a busy, varied caseload independently

• Strong leadership skills, with a desire to mentor and support colleagues

• Excellent client care and communication abilities

• A proactive, collaborative approach with attention to detail

• Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage, though not essential
