An established and highly regarded law firm in Tavistock is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive) to join its busy and supportive Property team.

The successful candidate will enjoy managing their own files while being supported by an experienced team and dedicated legal secretaries, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional client care.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Registered and unregistered land transactions
- Re-mortgages
- Transfers of equity
- Easements
- Plot sales
- Deeds of gift
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Delivering an exceptional standard of client care throughout the transaction.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers.
- Managing files efficiently and ensuring compliance with SRA and CQS requirements.
- Taking responsibility for billing and file management.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm.
- Contributing to the continued success and growth of the Property department.
The role is predominantly office-based in Tavistock, with some flexibility for hybrid working where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and client care abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Benefits:
- Salary of £65,000–£70,000 depending on experience.
- Pension scheme.
- 28 days’ annual leave (including Bank Holidays), increasing with length of service up to 33 days.
