Due to continued growth, our client is seeking to recruit a Head of Private Client (South Hams) to be based in their Kingsbridge office.

The successful candidate will join a thriving and supportive Private Client team where collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development are actively encouraged. Whilst this role carries the title of Head of Private Client, the firm is open to considering ambitious Private Client Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE who are ready to take the next step in their career and assume greater responsibility.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the ongoing development of the department whilst continuing to undertake high-quality fee-earning work within a supportive and well-resourced environment.

The Role
You will manage a varied Private Client caseload and be responsible for delivering a high standard of advice and client care.
Work is likely to include:
- Wills and estate planning
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Estate administration and Probate
- Trust administration
- Tax planning
- Court of Protection matters
- Supporting the development and growth of the Private Client department
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Participating in networking and business development activities
The successful candidate will primarily be based in Kingsbridge and should be comfortable meeting clients face-to-face. Travel to other office locations may occasionally be required.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE
- Experienced in managing a varied Private Client caseload
- Passionate about delivering exceptional client care
- Able to work collaboratively within a close-knit team
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to business development
- Able to demonstrate a consistent fee-earning track record
- Ambitious and keen to take on additional responsibility
STEP qualification and/or SFE membership would be advantageous but are not essential. Full support and funding for further qualifications will be available for the right candidate.
