Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm with a strong presence in the Southwest, is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join their friendly and supportive team in Honiton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and client-focused solicitor to take on a varied and high-quality caseload, advising on a broad range of private client matters. The role offers real scope for autonomy, responsibility, and career progression within a collaborative and forward-thinking firm.
Your caseload will include:
- Drafting Wills, including those involving more complex estates
- Advising on Probate and the administration of estates from instruction through to completion
- Trust creation, management, and advisory work
- Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
- Inheritance Tax planning and estate structuring
- Advising high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth preservation and succession planning
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and to the highest standard. A key part of the role will involve building and maintaining strong client relationships, offering clear, practical advice tailored to individual circumstances, often dealing with sensitive matters requiring empathy and discretion.
In addition, you will:
- Work closely with colleagues across the wider firm to provide a seamless client service
- Play an active role in business development and networking initiatives
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the private client department
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice within private client law
- Support and mentor more junior members of the team where appropriate
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with solid experience in private client work
- Be confident managing a full and varied caseload independently
- Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Show a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships and contributing to the firm’s reputation
