A well-regarded law firm is seeking a Legal Secretary to join its newly established office near Somerton. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking practice, working within modern, newly refurbished offices in a pleasant and professional setting.

The firm is open to full-time or part-time arrangements and can offer flexibility around working patterns. This could include reduced hours, school-friendly hours, or working several days per week, making it an ideal role for someone seeking a position that offers both responsibility and work-life balance.

The Role:

This position has been created following a restructure of the firm’s workflow processes and is focused purely on administrative and secretarial support. The firm is specifically seeking a Legal Secretary rather than a fee earner or an individual looking to progress into a fee-earning role.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the office’s day-to-day operations. Over time, the role will involve working largely independently, so confidence, organisation and initiative will be important.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support
  • Audio and copy typing of correspondence and legal documents
  • Preparing and formatting legal documentation
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings
  • Handling incoming calls and client enquiries professionally
  • Opening and maintaining client files in line with compliance procedures
  • Assisting with document management and electronic filing systems
  • General office administration to ensure the smooth running of the office

About You:

The firm would ideally welcome applications from candidates with previous Legal Secretary experience. However, those with strong administrative backgrounds who are keen to work within a legal environment will also be considered.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong typing and document formatting abilities
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • A reliable, proactive and flexible approach
