Our client is seeking an ambitious and client-focused Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their established Family & Matrimonial Department in Exeter. The role will involve advising and representing clients on a wide range of family law matters, including:

Divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships

Separation and cohabitee issues

Financial settlements arising from relationship breakdown

Private law children matters
You will work closely with colleagues across the firm, benefitting from a strong network of expertise and an excellent reputation in the region.
Key Responsibilities

Managing and progressing your own caseload of family law matters

Delivering accurate, timely, and practical legal advice

Ensuring compliance with the firm’s risk management and quality procedures

Actively participating in departmental marketing and business development initiatives

Building strong and lasting relationships with clients, referrers, and professional contacts
-
Staying abreast of legislative and procedural developments in family law
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated professional who can demonstrate:

Qualification as a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2–6 years’ PQE in family law
-
Proven experience handling a caseload covering divorce, finances, and children matters
-
Strong client care skills, with the ability to offer clear, empathetic advice
-
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently
-
IT proficiency and attention to detail
-
A proactive, team-oriented approach and a genuine interest in contributing to departmental growth
A knowledge of the legal aid system would be beneficial, though not essential.
