Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm with a strong presence across the Southwest, is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join their growing team in Torquay.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and successful property department, handling a high-quality and varied caseload of commercial property matters. The role offers genuine scope for career progression within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, which will include:
- Acquisitions and disposals of commercial property
- Landlord and tenant matters, including leases and renewals
- Commercial leases acting for both landlords and tenants
- Property finance and secured lending transactions
- Development work, including site acquisitions and disposals
- Option agreements, overage agreements, and easements
You will work closely with a broad client base including local businesses, developers, investors, and high-net-worth individuals, providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing files from instruction through to completion
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, leases, and supporting documentation
- Conducting title investigations and due diligence
- Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and other third parties
- Ensuring transactions progress efficiently and within agreed timeframes
- Maintaining high standards of client care and communication
- Supporting business development and networking activities
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and market developments
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in commercial property
- Be confident managing a varied caseload independently
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Possess excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Be commercially aware with a proactive approach to their work
- Have a genuine interest in contributing to the growth of the department
