Legal Southwest

An established and highly regarded law firm in the Southwest is seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join its growing dispute resolution team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with between 3 – 5 years’ post-qualification experience to handle a varied caseload of civil litigation matters while benefiting from strong support, quality work and genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Role:

You will manage your own caseload of civil litigation matters and provide clear, practical advice to a broad range of clients, including individuals, businesses and organisations.

The caseload is likely to include:

  • Contractual disputes
  • Property litigation
  • Boundary and neighbour disputes
  • Debt recovery matters
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Commercial disputes
  • Contentious probate matters
  • Landlord and tenant disputes
  • General civil litigation matters

You will be expected to manage files from inception through to conclusion, including pre-action negotiations, alternative dispute resolution and court proceedings where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied civil litigation caseload with minimal supervision
  • Advising clients on legal strategy, risks and potential outcomes
  • Drafting correspondence, pleadings and court documents
  • Conducting negotiations and settlement discussions
  • Representing clients at hearings where appropriate
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Assisting with business development and networking activities
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management procedures

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Solicitor with approximately 3 – 5 years’ PQE
  • Experience handling a broad range of civil litigation matters
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client care abilities
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
