We are working with a leading law firm based in Exeter, recognised as one of the best payers in the South West, who are looking to recruit an Associate (NQ – 2 PQE) to join their highly regarded Real Estate Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Solicitor to work on high-value, complex and nationally significant transactions, with exposure to market-leading clients and cutting-edge legal technology.
The Role:
You will act as a core member of the Real Estate Finance team, working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK on large, inter-disciplinary and national residential portfolio transactions. Clients include registered providers, for-profit registered providers, institutional investors, local authorities and private investors.
Your work will include:
- Supporting large residential portfolio transactions of varying size and complexity
- Assisting with the application of the firm’s AI and legal technology products to enhance service delivery
- Liaising directly with clients, agents and counterparties, including representing the team at regular project management meetings
- Working closely with transactional colleagues to draft and negotiate contract provisions, including conditionality arising from due diligence
- Preparing detailed due diligence reports and drafting clear, practical advice to clients, including proposing commercial solutions
- Assisting with project management, task allocation and supervision of junior team members
- Liaising with professional support teams and undertaking legal research as required
- Lead Transactional Work
You will also have the opportunity to act as lead Solicitor on significant property charging and securitisation transactions for registered providers and for-profit registered providers, supporting their development, maintenance and acquisition programmes.
This will include:
- Day-to-day management of transactions with direct client contact
- Working closely with the national portfolio team and banking & finance colleagues to co-ordinate transactions
- Reviewing initial due diligence information, including title documentation and search results
- Managing transaction timelines, delegating tasks and supervising colleagues to ensure deadlines are met
About You:
- For the role you will be a Newly Qualified up to 2 years’ PQE
- Experience or strong interest in real estate finance, real estate or banking & finance work
- Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills
- Confident liaising with clients and working as part of a national team
- Keen to develop technically and progress long-term within a high-performing team
