On behalf of our client, we are seeking a motivated and compassionate Divorce Solicitor to join a highly regarded Family Law team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified + Solicitor who is looking to develop their career within a supportive, client-focused environment.

Role Description:

The Divorce Solicitor will handle a varied caseload of family law matters, focusing primarily on divorce, separation, and related financial and children matters. Working closely with senior members of the team, the successful candidate will provide clear, empathetic advice and representation to clients, maintaining the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional service and practical legal solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of divorce and family law matters from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Advising clients on all aspects of divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
  • Drafting legal documentation and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attending client meetings, court hearings, and mediation sessions where required.
  • Maintaining effective communication with clients, counsel, and other parties.
  • Supporting senior solicitors and contributing to the development of the department.
  • Participating in business development and networking activities to promote the firm’s family law services.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ+).
  • Some experience in family or matrimonial law during training or post-qualification.
  • Strong communication and client care skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in developing a career in family law.
