Legal Southwest

Our Client are proud of being a professional yet welcoming, collegiate firm, where they want their people to enjoy working together to achieve great results. Working for an ambitious, profitable and forward-thinking firm, you can expect to be provided with excellent training and development, in order to further your career in a stimulating and supportive environment.

Our client is open minded and is accepting application from NQ’s to Associate level but some tax experience is needed, even if fairly light, and an interest in developing a career in corporate tax, of course.

The Role
We’re seeking to recruit an ambitious Solicitor or Associate to join our client’s growing and nationally recognised Corporate Tax team. Based in their Exeter office with some opportunity for home based working each week, you will report directly to the Partners and play an integral part in a wide range of work, including mergers & acquisitions (“M&A”); reorganisations; general corporation tax and capital gains tax advice; advising on property taxes; and employment related securities. You will have already gained some experience of working on a range of corporate, property and employment related transactions, and be seeking to expand your skills and knowledge, whilst being supported by an experienced team. Within a team environment you will be responsible for dealing with high quality, high value work and will be afforded high levels of responsibility from the outset.

About You
An excellent communicator with proven technical and organisational skills, you’ll be accustomed to working under pressure to meet challenging deadlines. With some M&A and general tax experience, you will have an eye for detail, and be meticulous in your work. Being self-motivated and ambitious, you already possess the drive to help continue to grow and develop our business, and in return you will be rewarded and supported by us as you progress in your career. As a firm, we believe that our relationship with our clients is paramount. To be successful, you will need the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients and show good commercial judgement combined with a genuine commitment to their individual business need

As well as a highly competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy our range of flexible benefits, which include:

  • Pension
  • Life Assurance
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • 23 days annual leave, all bank holidays plus your birthday off and an extra day at Christmas. Your holiday entitlement increases with length of service.
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme
  • Employee Assistant Programme
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
  • Free Legal Services to Staff: Including wills and conveyancing
  • Medicash: Health care cash plan for employees
  • Free gym in our Exeter office
  • Car sharing
  • Travel Loans (applicable after successful completion of the probationary period)
