Corporate / Commercial Lawyer – Full Time

The Role:
Corporate and commercial work is a significant and evolving practice within the firm, strengthened by key strategic partner appointments in recent years. The firm acts for a diverse client base, including businesses, farmers, landowners, and private clients, while also receiving referrals from accountants, agents, and other professionals due to its strong local reputation.
With strategically placed offices across Somerset and Devon, our client attracts a wide range of corporate and commercial work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to this thriving practice and play a key role in its continued growth.
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ PQE in corporate and commercial law.
- Ideally, strong links to the South West and relationships with accountants, agents, and referrers.
- A following is preferred but not essential.
- Ambition to progress within the firm, with a clear pathway to partnership and team leadership.
- Willingness to be involved in marketing, business development, networking, and training junior team members.
- The ability to work in one or more of the firm’s offices most of the week, with hybrid working available post-probation.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will handle a variety of non-contentious corporate and commercial matters, including:
- Business sales and purchases (both share and asset transactions).
- Shareholders Agreements and Articles of Association.
- Company incorporation.
- Partnership and LLP agreements, including farming partnerships.
- Commercial contracts and standard terms and conditions.
- Management buyouts and company restructuring.
- Private equity investments and other forms of financing.
