A leading law firm is seeking a Child Care Solicitor to join its specialist family team in Plymouth. The role involves representing parents, children, and wider family members in public law proceedings, including care cases, pre-proceedings under the Public Law Outline, and applications for Special Guardianship Orders.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, carry out advocacy, and provide clear, practical advice to clients navigating highly sensitive and often distressing situations. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.
Applicants should be qualified as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally with experience in public law children matters. Membership of the Law Society’s Children Panel, or the ambition to achieve it, will be considered an advantage.
